Admissions to our School - In Year and Main Entry
Children are admitted to Stourfleld Infant School according to the criteria set out in our Admissions Policy. Although we are part of a Multi Academy Trust and Twynham Learning is the Admissions Authority, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Admissions to administer any applications for a place at our school. The school's Published Admissions Number is 120.
More information and details on how to apply for a school place, whether in-year or as part of the main entry to our Reception Year, can be found on the BCP Council website at School admissions (bcpcouncil.gov.uk).
Parents wishing to visit the school prior to making their application or accepting an offer of a school place for their child, are most welcome and should contact the school office to arrange an appointment at office@stourfieldinfants.com or 01202 424585.
Please find a copy of our Admissions Policy and Appeal documents below.

Catchment Area
Please see the map at the bottom of this page which details our Catchment Area, and a document listing all the road names which fall within this. However, residence within the catchment area does not ensure that a place at the school is offered.
Applicants are ranked by distance to the school within each admission category and if places are oversubscribed and/or the school is full in the appropriate year group, the school will not be able to offer a place.
Appeals
For infant class size appeals, the law only allows very limited grounds upon which an Appeal Panel is allowed to uphold an appeal and offer a place.
In 1998, the Government introduced legislation under the Schools Standard and Framework Act (SSFA 1998) which limits the size of an infant class to 30 pupils with a single school teacher for Reception Year, Year One and Year Two. There are some exceptions allowed by law to this and all the necessary information can be obtained in the 'School Admission Appeals - A Guide for Parents' below.
All appeals information can be found on the BCP website link below:
